So I've decided to occasionally write about certain songs that have affected me and that have specific time periods and people associated with them, because songs are so autobiographical in that way.
I'm listening to Rachel Yamagata''s 'Be be your love' which will always take me back to my first year at Stephen's, more specifically Harmony, our college fest. It was such an incredibly fun and memorable time of our lives, I think it was the first time our college group really came together and were in each others faces for 3 days straight that invaribly we became a family of sorts. For a lot of us it was our first taste of real 'freedom', no restrictions from parents and just being able to party, stay out all night and get to know each other.
The first night involved us going for a super fab (?) dinner at Wimpy's, watching random movies back at our friend Aakanksha's house and heading to college next morning (also had some unfortunate bathroom run ins ! LOL) It was the night of 'magical and intimate' , makeup being put on people's faces and our first Conti party was the next night (where I somehow ended up having a long conversation with a brick!)
I got my heart broken by a guy who turned out to like other boys and then moved on to someone else in a day (who turned out to be superboring and into nanotechnology!) , Noor and I became close friends, we got to know our seniors and I just look back at those three days as three of the best days of my life. So listening to this song has both made me happy to remember that time and sad that I can never go back to it. Music is strange that way.
